Dip In

Vancouver still holds many opportunities for discovery for those of us willing to venture into unfamiliar territory. The city rewards its urban Jacques Cartiers who explore the wilds of downtown, hunting for unseen treasures and untapped resources. Lucky for us, unlike that famous Frenchman, we don't have to carry a canoe on our head while we're poking around.

European Deli HummusThough we'd be willing to do a portage or two in order to make our way to the European Delicatessen on Davie Street. Inside, you'll find one of the tastiest treats this city has to offer. Simply put, this is where you'll find the best hummus in town. Period.

Their homemade creation is the perfect example of why it pays to take the road less travelled once in a while. Although, once you've dipped some pita bread or a tortilla chip into this smooth, garlicky swamp of flavour you will be beating a path to their door on a regular basis.

"Just one more container," you'll pant as you run out the door to buy more. And why not? It's cheap (about four dollars for 250 grams). It's good for you, giving you a healthy dose of protein, fibre and vitamin C. And it's about as delicious as the human mind can conceive.

Have you entered to win a gift certificate from Red Galleria yet? If you checked out Brand New yesterday then your life is probably already chaotic.
