Best of - Rock Hard Bod

Last August this was a hit:

CrossfitNo joke. . . want to be in the best shape of your life?

Then check out Crossfit. It’s a whole new sport started up by a guy called Greg Glassman in Southern California in the late 90’s. Now, it’s here in Canada, on our doorstep!

Crossfit is a fitness training program based on four fundamental principles of sport: Gymnastics, Olympic weighlifting, Rowing and Sprinting. All workouts are mixed and matched from those groups, for scores, points, rounds or time.

They use moves that mimic daily life, and better prepare you for it. Take a functional movement – like standing from a seated position, picking up something heavy, or lifting something overhead – and apply intensity. That’s all it takes to get the bod and the life you’ve always wanted. Sounds simple right? Well, they can’t promise simple, but they can promise results – and fast.

The Canadian Military has made Crossfit its official training program, and it has become the unofficial program for every elite military unit in the U.S. – Navy Seals, U.S. Air Force Para-Rescuers, Army Rangers, Delta Force (so secret they’re not even supposed to exist – oops!), and more.

Even cooler, not only are the world’s best athletes doing this program, but so are the elderly in old age homes across North America. It’s for everyone, even WE have dropped a few pants sizes, gained some pretty impressive muscle tone, and a whole new perspective on life.

Get ready to jump on boxes, climb poles, tip tires, swing from ropes and run around with weights. Hey, you get to be a kid all over again!
