With a holiday location now in Pacific Centre, downtowners are getting an up-close smell of what has made the Escents chain of aromatherapy stores such a Lower Mainland hit.

Escents began with founder Jacqui MacNeill's love for scents and a four-by-ten table at a local Vancouver market. Soon, she opened her first store in Park Royal and now the company runs seven stores in B.C., 18 in Taiwan and a newly opened Korean location.

There's no better feeling than shopping at a store that you know has true passion behind it, and Escents is that kind of place. MacNeill's devotion to aromatherapy is the real thing. She credits it with helping her live through an illness during which doctors had given her a 30 per cent chance of survival.
