VANCOUVER TRENDZ [THURSDAY]

Coming and Going

October 4, 2007

SFU City ProgramThere’s no bigger trend affecting all Vancouverites than this city's pioneering land use policies and our thriving downtown created through decades of careful planning, mixed-use developments and an emphasis on environmentalism. Now, the public gets a chance to listen to one of the prime movers of those policies, Bob Williams,  as he reflects on what it took to get Vancouver where it is and where it’s going in a wide -ranging interview at the SFU Harbour Centre.

Williams brings a unique perspective to the subjects of land use and transportation, both of which he's played critical roles in crafting over the last half century. The interview, part of the Paradise Makers lecture series put on by SFU, is free, but call or email to reserve a seat, space is limited. Email SFU at cstudies@sfu.ca or call 778-782-5100.

Where: SFU Harbour Centre, 515 West Hastings Street, www.sfu.ca/city
When: Friday, October 5th, 7:00 p.m.

What can you win in this week's Contest? How about a java jolt from the Raging Bean Coffee Company. And how many films are you seeing at this year's fest after yesterday's Brand New?
