BRAND NEW [WEDNESDAY]

No change? No problem!

September 12, 2007

Have you tried paying for parking through your cell phone yet?  We hadn’t.  And now we’re not sure what we were waiting for!

No more scrabbling around for change, no more waiting in line for the machine.  Just a quick phone call and you’re paid up to the exact number of minutes you want.  You get a text message when your meter is about to expire, and can even top up the minutes right then and there, without having to go back to your car.

So what does this cost?  A 30 cent convenience fee.  And where can you try it out?  All the meters in the city have decals with a meter number on them and a phone number to call. Commercial parking lots, like Impark, are equipped with pay-by-cell-phone too.  Even better?  If you use less time than you ordered, you can call and have the excess time deducted.

Leave the coins wedged in the car seat.
