BRAND NEW [WEDNESDAY]

It’s All Gone to the Dogs

August 8, 2007

Following up on our canine friends, this week’s ‘find’ is a home away-from-home. . .

Need a place for pooch to stay while you wile away the days on your next vacation?  Look no further than Vancouver’s own Rex Dog Hotel & Spa.

The folks at Rex have turned the old Brussels Chocolate building on Terminal into a fabulous pet oasis featuring indoor and outdoor play environments, a computerized water park, luxurious custom-made beds and cozy bedding.   No joke, we’d like to stay there, but two-legged people aren’t allowed.

During the day, Fido can romp around through tunnels, ramps and rings, and enjoy fun in the waterpark with ball launchers, pop-its and geyser waves.  At night the staff sleep where the dogs sleep, so they’re never alone.  They’ve even got glass suites available for older dogs or groups.

Fido’s vacation may just top yours!

Rex Dog Hotel & Spa, 760 Terminal Avenue, 604 696-5166, www.rexvancouver.com

Have you entered this week's Contest yet? You could win two tickets (and two books) to the Vancouver International Writer's Festival. And did you get a charge from yesterday's Weekend Guide?
