VANCOUVER TRENDZ [THURSDAY]

Call me!

July 19, 2007

Canada is suffering from iPhone envy. The stylish, groundbreaking phone/iPod/web browsing combo took the United States by storm last week, but who knows when (or if) Apple’s latest wonder device will be available here. But fear not, gadget lovers and fashionistas, we have alternatives.

LG PhoneIf it’s style you’re looking for, take a look at the sleek LG Chocolate. With a sexy slider version and a clamshell for those who prefer a more traditional phone, the Chocolate is available in black or white (naturally, given the sweet theme) and comes with Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera and built-in music player.

If you’re tired of your Motorola RAZR but still love the phone’s thin and sleek design, look at the new MOTOKRZR, which slims down the phone but ups the specs with dedicated buttons for music, a hot form factor and battery life that can’t be beat.

And don’t forget the gorgeous Blackberry Pearl that we told you about last fall,  we never forget ours!

None of these phones deliver the all-in-one knockout punch of the iPhone’s feature set, but they do have the advantage that you can actually get your hands on them right now.

The Chocolate is available from all four cell phone providers, as is the KRZR. The Pearl is currently only available through Rogers Wireless.
