VANCOUVER TRENDZ [THURSDAY]

Johnny Be Good

May 24, 2007

The slogan on the T-shirt says it all: Make Cupcakes Not War. That's a sentiment we can all agree on, eh? It's just one of the awesome cupcake-inspired shirt designs that have turned Massachusetts-based Johnny cupcakeJohnny Cupcakes into one of the hottest fashion trends on the Internet.

They've got a hip pirate-inspired cupcake logo available in bright reds, pinks and blues, cupcake clouds shooting out lightning, and an E.T. homage featuring a cupcake on a bicycle. There's even a series of shirts featuring zombies and cupcakes, an unlikely but irresistible pairing.

Actually, pretty much every shirt is irresistible. Throw in the underwear, dog tags and belts they sell, and we're in cupcake heaven. The best part? As dedicated, cupcake-loving Vancouverites, we should feel honoured that the only Canadian store selling Johnny's tees is our very own Voltage on Main Street. So check out Johnny Cupcakes online or head to Voltage for your T-shirt treats.

Voltage, 4346 Main Street (near 28th)

Have you entered this week's Contest yet? You could win a Tikki dress from Sweet Soul - and if dresses aren't your thing just imagine how impressed a certain someone would be if you gave it to them as a gift. And the red trend continued yesterday in Brand New.
