HOT PICKS [FRIDAY]

Can You Keep a Secret?

April 27, 2007

So far, only a select few have had the chance to savour the succulence found in every Sisters Secret scone. Now, these made-in-Vancouver delights are poised to take over the country.

Sisters SecretMade from a secret recipe - no doubt written in invisible ink and sealed in a vault guarded only by illiterate mercenaries for added security - these scones are tasty with a capital "YUM!" Take a package home from the store, cook 'em for half-an-hour and you will be devouring the best pastries to ever emerge from your oven. Whip up some tea and you're practically the Queen of England.

There are four kinds to choose from, two sweet and two savoury. The pecan caribe and ginger cream ones are a great dessert idea. And the gorgonzola rosemary and chilli cheddar go great with a bowl of chilli, which Sisters Secret conveniently also makes. Plus, they've got some really delicious granola made of Pacific Northwest fruits.

Now, if only they made cupcakes. . .

Sisters Secret products are available at these downtown stores:
Capers, 1675 Robson Street (at Cardero)
IGA Marketplace, 909 Burrard Street (at Smithe)
Urban Fare, 177 Davie Street (at Pacific)
