BRAND NEW [WEDNESDAY]

Latin Lover

April 2, 2008

Cobre NuevoPicture this… It’s Friday night and it’s late, but the night is young, and you’re dying to find that super hot spot with the cool drinks and the interesting crowd.

Enter stage left, Cobre Nuevo. Tapas dining concept, split-level funky heritage space with original polished hardwood floors and ceilings, exposed brick walls, dark wood tables and chairs, copper ceiling accents and Spanish wrought-iron balcony railings.  Translation – a gorgeous spot.

Small plates draw their influence from Argentina, Brazil, Cuba and Mexico, to name a few.  Try the Duck Confit Pupusa with caramelized shallots, the Maple chipotle glazed beef short ribs with sweet potato chips, and the trio of ceviche with scallop, tuna and snapper.

As for drinks?  We recommend the Tequila Martini with a chili pepper rim, and the cocktail “flights”. . .  Taxi anyone?

Cobre Nuevo, 52 Powell Street, 604-669-2396, www.cobrerestaurant.com
