BRAND NEW [WEDNESDAY]

The Good Life

March 19, 2008

The uber-cool Moda Hotel on Seymour just opened their new wine bar Uva.  The name means “grape” in Italian.

Yeah, yeah, we know, yet another bar capitalizing on the wine, cheese and charcuterie craze that is all the rage these days in Vancouver. . .

However, we paid a visit and Uva is worth checking out.  This 1908 heritage building boasts a funky combination of new and old world décor and Uva doesn’t disappoint, with a good wine list, some interesting beer choices, and sumptuous share plates.  With Sebastien Le Goff of Feenie’s fame at the helm, this place is dialed in for success.

Why not grab your man and make a night of it?  With 50 or so rooms that blend old world style with new world contemporary and sophisticated design, the backdrop is there - it’s not our fault if you never make it to the bar.

Uva Wine Bar, Moda Hotel, 900 Seymour Street, 604-683-4251.
