Ah, the humble button. For centuries these unassuming little disks have fastened our duds, spiffed up military uniforms, provided eyes for countless sock monkeys, and graced the likes of opera gloves and lingerie. They even withstood the onslaught of the zipper, proving that sometimes low-tech beats high-tech (ever try to fix a broken zipper? And how lame are zip-up shirts?)
