The Granville strip just keeps adding to its arsenal of fun foodie hang-outs.

If you haven’t made it over to Whineo’s yet, you’re missing out. Unique décor, from black and white photography and Victorian wallpaper in red framed panels, to the intriguing floor to ceiling bookcase at the back near the bar. . . which hides a secret room, only revealed when the bookshelves are folded back. This little snug fits 15-20, and is aptly named the Scooby Doo Room, after the cartoon, well known for revealing many a hidden room this way.

Wonderful selection of beers from around the globe, in addition to a fabulous wine list, of course. Loads of excellent antipasto and small plate options, including patatas bravas on a bed of spicy tomato sauce, an unexpectedly delicious Moroccan carrot dip, lip-smacking duck rillettes, decadent blue cheese croquettes with basil aioli, and. . .

We could go on, but we’re getting hungry just thinking about it.
