Brand New [WEDNESDAY]

Oh Canada!

Wednesday, June 28, 2006

They may not do airlines well, but Roots sure does know its clothing.

Roots has launched a new line of hang-out wear dedicated to our home and native land, just in time for Canada Day. It’s called the Canada Day Collection and the spokesperson for it is none other than the Great One himself, Wayne Gretzky – the epitome of many things Canadian.

In stores now, the collection is true north, strong and stylish. Special projects designer David Young and his team created the line with retro influences from the seventies. They’ve got polyester-cotton double knit track jackets, cotton fleece hoodies, soft stretch jersey T’s for girls and crew cuts for guys, even a French T, called the Trois Feuilles, and it’s very fresh – think crisp whites, reds and blues, the latter to represent our friends in Quebec. We like the Heritage Hoody and the mesh Allegiance Visor. All the baseball caps are pretty cool too.

So, you patriots head on down to Roots on the a-sap so that you’re decked in style this weekend to celebrate our country’s 139th – glorious and free forever, baby.
